Silvie Gross and her vision for people with urticaria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Silvie Gross is the initiator and founder of the Urticaria Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea arose, after many years of own serious illness, in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2007, she was diagnosed with CSU and was affected by daily flare-ups, angioedema and anaphylaxis for over a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, the implementation was achieved together with a small group of those affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience in the system<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the following years Silvie moved intensively in the health and self-help landscape, participated in international congresses and collaborated with researchers and organizations from different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It became clear that an independent voice of patients within existing structures is hardly intended, even if it often appears differently to the outside world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classification<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvie's systemic understanding led to a deeper understanding of the relationships between research, care, organizations and interests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She recognised that many decisions are not made exclusively in the interest of patients and that self-help organisations play a special role due to their access to those affected and are therefore highly susceptible to influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvie decided to take a different path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Independence and transparency became the central focus of her work. Even if that meant breaking away from existing structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, she works on the analysis and classification of these relationships and develops approaches for independent, transparent self-help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another focus is on digitization and digital health and the question of how self-help can reposition itself in this context. She writes, gives lectures and develops formats to make this knowledge accessible to the widest possible audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
