who.we.are
About us
The urticaria association was founded in 2018 because there was no separate contact and counseling center for people with urticaria for a long time. Since then, we have been accompanying people with urticaria, angioedema and mast cell-associated diseases.
attitude
What guides us
For us, the well-being of those affected is paramount, above all economic interests. That is why we work independently and transparently, without the influence of the pharmaceutical industry or other financial interests.
We take a holistic medical approach and ensure that those affected have access to relevant information, individual advice and targeted support: Fast, flexible and unbureaucratic.
Our goal is to provide health care that is sustainable and humane. We create spaces for knowledge, exchange and help and support people on their way to more self-determination and health literacy.
assessment
founding
Initiator and founder of the association is Silvie Gross, MSc. The idea was born in 2015, after many years of own serious illness. In 2018, the project was implemented together with a small group of people affected.
In the following years, she worked intensively in the health and self-help landscape, participated in international congresses and collaborated with researchers and organizations from different countries. Independence and transparency became the central focus of her work.
Today she deals with the analysis of these relationships, with digital health and with new forms of self-help. She writes, gives lectures and is chairman of the association.
working method
How we work
We do not recommend any content, products or offers of third parties without having carefully checked and classified them beforehand. We take a close look at studies, digital applications, webinars and other offers, also in exchange with our Ethics Council.
We do not see our work as part of third-party marketing or exploitation structures. The trust of those affected is the basis of our work, and we handle it carefully.
Responsibilities
Social responsibility
Health arises in the interplay of medical care, social conditions and real life circumstances. Where these structures do not work, gaps arise in which increasingly chronically ill people fall into.
For us, responsibility means not leaving people alone when systems reach their limits and giving orientation where situations become confusing. Success shows itself for us where people find orientation again, decisions become possible and stability arises.
No one should have to give up support for financial reasons. People in proven emergencies do not pay a membership fee.
